I don't have anything I can show you today, but I wanted to update, so here's a small tour of my studio.I've seen a couple others doing this, and I finally found my camera cord again, so for those of you who find this kinda stuff interesting here you go. My "office" is kind of small right now, it's just a corner of our living room since we live in a one bedroom apartment right now. You can download the image to see things a little better, sorry the photos are a little blurry in spots.
1. Closeup of my bulletin board o' chaos. It's a mess because I'm a bit of a scatterbrain and need to write things down if I'm going to remember them. Plus some random cartoons and printed pics.
2. A look at my corner as a whole. The far left door is the entry door, the one next to it is a closet. All the framed stuff on the walls is as follows:
a. Captain Marvel sketch by Chris Sprouse
b. Captain Marvel by Marcelo DiChiara
c. watercolor cards of Flash and Thing by Dustin Nguyen
d. Bravo for Adventure print, Alex Toth
e. Signed Sgt. Rock/WWII print, Joe Kubert
f. Big honkin' Peanuts print, Charles Schulz. I love this thing, you never get the idea of Schulz's strength as an inker until you see his stuff large.
g. One of those IDW "Parker" cards (the yellow one), Darwyn Cooke
h. Superman and Krypto, Mike Wieringo
3. Closeup of the milk crate next to my desk, cheap place to store paper, mailing materials, whatever books. I think I've got some Toth and Williamson sitting there now. My ink/watercolor tray is really messy right now too. The black pad is my Brothers Gordon journal.
4. Closeup of my drafting table. I got this in college, it's nice and sturdy at a good price. Plus, it's really wide which helps. Right now I've got some pages and a commission of big mugshots sitting there. The little table next to it is where I keep all the pens/brushes/pencils, etc.
5. If you're sitting at my drafting table and turn right, there's my computer desk. Not much room with the scanner, laptop, and tablet all on there. I am in desperate need of a new computer. Those blue tubs under the desk are great for storing monthlies, found them cheap at Michael's or something. Can't remember.
And my corner does feel about as big as those photos some days. As much as I hate moving, I can't wait to get a bigger place in August.
As something extra for you folks who check the blog instead of Deviant Art, here's a photo of my bookcase too.
I promise next time I'll have something a little more interesting, ha!
