Back to the Future

Hey all! As those of you on Twitter or whatever other internet social circles I run in know, I got back from WW:Chicago and a week in Michigan sometime Friday evening. I was hoping to post here much sooner, but I've been catching up on a mountain of e-mails, getting the office ready for work, and organizing all the commissions and sequentials I've got to do in the coming weeks.

Eventually, I'm hoping to get a chance to recap Chicago at some length, but right now it's getting kind of late. The short version is it was a very good show, both personally and professionally. I had a blast getting to meet a lot of you that I'd only talked to online, and getting to hang out a little with those of you I already knew. My good buddy Jay Fosgitt has an excellent summary of his weekend there, and I even make a cameo. In the next day or so I'll make sure to post about some of the goodies I picked up and all the great people there.
I then spent a week in Pentwater on Lake Michigan with my family, hanging out in the wilderness. It was really nice to spend some time with my family before I came back to Colorado for a while, and Pentwater's just about my favorite place on Earth, so double bonus. The picture above is me drawing in front of the tent. That's my cousin Aaron wearing the killer Justice League T-Shirt I found for him in Chicago. Where else can you find a shirt with "BAT-ban", "Fassshh" and "OckaMan" on it?

The picture below is of (from L to R) myself, my sister Katie, and my brother Ryan, standing in front of the sign at the entrance to the camp. We've been taking this same picture for 19 years. Ryan just left yesterday to spend a semester in Italy. Some mooks have all the luck.

Getting back to work though, as I told all of you who commissioned me before all this nonsense, I plan on getting started in the next day or so. I'm getting back into my work schedule after what has been almost a month out of it. I'm (finally) taking the plunge and working up sequential samples (in addition to the stuff I'm already working on), so don't expect much in the pinup arena like usual. No mugshots (besides commissions) either. I'll make sure to post warm-up sketches and some panels from whatever I'm working on, or at the very least pop in grumble about the noisy kids in this neighborhood.

In the meanwhile, those of you who commissioned me should take notice of the list to your right. I've got everyone listed, and it's in order of when you commissioned/paid for it. So if you're on the top, that means I'm working on your piece, and as I finish them I'll take the names down. They might take me a little while, because I'm working on other projects in between, but I really appreciate your patience everybody.

That said, it's time to hit the hay.

(Whoops, almost forgot! Here's a quick update as to what going on with 1900 Gettysburg.)

Welcome back man. Its always good to have an update from you. Its kinda cool that you guys take that picture every year. Also on weird small world news, sometime in the next nine months or so my little brother will be leaving for Methodist Seminary in (as far as he knows right now) Colorado.

Take care man.
