Most of you know by now that I'm a big fan of the Beast character from X-Men, and that he's basically the character that got me back into reading comics back in high school. I'm also a big fan of the Simonson's run on X-Factor when Beast was wearing the red and blue "X" costume. It's still one of the slickest designs in my opinion. I can get over the catface look now, but I really miss this guy. It makes me wish books like X-Men First Class were still around so I could still take a stab at the classic looks.I layered some faux zipatone on this one just to experiment with it. I love the way guys like Sean Murphy and Dan Panosian use this effect. As always, you can pick up the black and white original for this one over at the shop.

See, I guess you would respond to the Beast pretty well, since you are the most like him of all the X-men. Though you really remind me more of Cyclops from Kirby's run. Very different character then.

Dude! I love it! I loved that version as well! Sigh. Personally I can't stand Cat-Beast. I wish they'd bring back this guy. Great job.

Kyle- What are you getting at? Wasn't Cyclops kind of a jerk in the beginning? Maybe I need to search out my copies of the 1st couple of issues.
Ev- Catface Beast certainly isn't my favorite, but I know he's still the same character underneath. I would definitely be excited to see this guy again though.
