In the meantime I thought maybe you guys could help me out. When I was in high school and just getting in to comics, I found this crop of a panel online and printed it out because I liked it so much. I've mentioned before that Marvel's Beast character is a favorite of mine and part of what got me into reading comics. I kept this shot tacked to my bulletin board for years until I went to college, when I stuck it in a binder somewhere. Years later I found it again and to this day I've got it sitting at the desk.
Of course this is from the Simonson's run on X-Factor during the 80's, but I have no idea what issue because I don't have any copies of them. I could just buy them all, but for the time being I thought maybe one of you out there might have a copy and would know which issue this panel is from. I can't give you anything for it, but I'd really love to see the whole thing. So that's all I've got for now. Hopefully the laptop is back in running condition sooner than later. Thanks for your patience everybody!
7 of these things are not like the others:
I can't pinpoint the issue, but I can narrow the run down for you. Beast is wearing red&blue, he switched to brown & yellow somewhere around #26.
Simonson started drawing the book with #10.
A little more detective work: the following issues are NOT drawn by Simonson:
12
16
20
22
So that leaves it down to 10-11, 13-15, 17-19, 21, 23-25
26 is out of the question, as I think that is Caliban behind Beast next to Iceman, and Caliban becomes a member of the Horsemen in #25.
I checked 10 and 11 and couldn't find it. I think he reverts back to Beast form at some point while Simonson is still on board.
Thanks guys, you're awesome. So that pretty much leaves it to 13-15, 17-19, 21, or 23-25. Definitely more narrowed down than I had before. And thanks, Doug, for pointing out that it's Caliban next to Iceman. This is stupid, but not having read the issues, I assumed it was some kind of wings-down Angel with a mask on. Dumb.
Adam- I figured he must have, but it's not exactly easy to tell from the covers.
its the splash page to # 24
